Billy Sheehan

Biography

Billy Sheehan solo has been likened to the four-string instrument to Eddie Van Halen in the six-string guitar. Early in his career

"See Saw" was a hit single when regional Talas released their debut album in 1978 and the song is very prevalent at that time. It was during this time that Sheehan wrote some of the most famous song, "Shy Boy" (Later re-recorded with David Lee Roth), and "Addicted to that Rush" (later re-recorded by Mr. Big). In the late 1970s, Sheehan also played in a band called Light Years with drummer Ron Rocco who previously playing in a band called Black Sheep with Foreign singer Lou Gramm in Rochester, New York. After Sheehan returned to Talas they opened the show for UFO in Buffalo.


Late 1980s-2000

David Lee Roth tapped Sheehan, guitarist Steve Vai and drummer Gregg Bissonette be his band for
the Eat 'Em and Smile album, Roth's first full studio release, following the successful four-humble

Richie Kotzen replaced him, and with Mr. Big until the group's breakup in 2002.
